A narrow entranceway, sometime busy, gives way to a comfortable area with atmospheric seating and low level background music playing. Changed in 2013 from the station bar, with the original theme of the rear ‘Safari Lounge’ being extended throughout the pub. The real ales are mainly Scottish but with the occasional English visitor. They aim to have aim for one amber and one pale available. An interesting array of food is served from the open kitchen at the front adjacent to the bar. A separate rear lounge can be booked for functions, as can a larger room downstairs. The staff are friendly and it’s popular with locals.
