This Pub is Closed Long Term
Formerly the Lord Nelson this is a traditional local housed in a 200-year old building. This one-roomed L-shaped pub is deceptively large; the impressive bar is in front of you upon entering with original tiles and woodwork still intact. There is an unusual rail around the pub wall consisting of two strips of wood and mirror creating an unusual effect. There is a TV in the small area to the right of the entrance and a pool table at the far end of the pub. There are no frills here and although this pub is one of a dying breed. A refurbishment in 2020 has cleaned and brighten the pub but it has not lost any of its character. The current revitalisation of Chapel Street will lead hopefully to a brighter future. It may close early if not busy.
