This Pub is Permanently Closed
Update: after some years of standing empty after flooding in 2015, the premises were converted to retail use and a double shop frontage was incorporated during 2021.
Original Description:
A traditional roadside local built in 1787, now opened out. In front of the bar, with its decorative woodwork, there's a large standing area, with the main seating area to one side broken up by a high table and bar stools. Heavy wooden balustrades surround a raised space at the front of the room, whilst the rear is panelled in wood, giving it the appearance of a ship's galley. An old doorway in the exposed stone wall by the entrance leads into the pool room, complete with bench seating; the low ceiling is similar to that found in the bar. There are discos or karaoke events, as well as a large screen television.
