The Robert Peel is a well established and popular pub in Bury's cultural quarter, named after the then local mill owner and MP whose son became Prime Minister and founded the modern police force. The pub has the largest open public area in Bury. The decor celebrates other local worthies such as the author of the Just William books, Richmal Crompton. It serves 6 real ales and several ciders. Originally a JD Wetherspoons, it reopened 6th April 2022 under new ownership.
