The Trackside combines some excellent ales with the nostalgia of the East Lancs. Railway. At the bar, 10 handpumps are permanently in use, serving varying guest ales. Various craft keg beers are dispensed via taps on the back of the bar with foreign bottle beers also on offer. For those wanting a close- up railway experience the station platform just outside has seating under a roof canopy creating a sun trap with wall heaters for cooler weather .

Although 12 handpumps (2 used for cider), the number of cask ales on offer has been reduced for some time now (approx. 12 months). Maximum available at anytime now is 6 (2 regular and 4 rotating).
