Originally Miners Welfare Institute built 1908, bought by Tetleys in 1948 as replacement for original Rising Sun pub. It is a striking original CFA Voysey building. It was renowned for its extensive all day menu. It was Wakefield Express Pub Of The Year 2006. At the time of most recent survey was not offering cask ale. Trade appears to have been hit by nearby competition.
