Two star - A pub interior of very special national historic interest
Listed status: Not listed
A pub that has seen much change but two small bars remain in use.
The double doors to the right indicate that there was once a carriage drive. Bomb damage resulted in one external door being lost whilst a room on the right is no longer in use. In the left-hand room, the wooden bar counter is probably interwar though it now has a row of modern blue tiling below a modern counter top.Elsewhere, much wooden shelving survives in the bar-back and there is both fixed seating and quarry-tiled flooring. The right-hand room has more recent fittings and the overpainting of some woodwork is unfortunate..Â
