Inn and Restaurant Bar
This local inn and pub has excellent views of the eastern Grampian mountains. A warm welcome is guaranteed, as described by local author Stuart MacBride. Under the same ownership for 34 years as of January 2024 and the emphasis is on excellent quality beers. CAMRA Country pub Of The Year 2020, 2023, 2024 and a winner of many previous local CAMRA awards, it retains a strong reputation for its imaginative choice of beers, sourced from, among others, Swannay Brewery and many other Scottish micros.
As of late 2018, the beer is served on gravity with three handpumps remaining on the bar to advertise the ales on offer. Sometimes supplemented by several extra beers such as during the occasional Brewer in Residence evenings A successful blend of popular family restaurant and marvellous real ale pub, it is appreciated by a dedicated core of regulars.
Traditional bar meals are served at lunchtime throughout the week, with a more extensive menu available in the bar in the evening. A separate restaurant area is available in the evenings and lunchtimes during the weekend.
