A pub since Elizabethan times although current building is mainly 18th century. All comers welcome, including bell ringers, canal users, walkers and dogs to this cosy part-thatched village pub nestling opposite the parish churchyard, only a few yards from the tow path of the North Oxford Canal. Two of the three low beamed rooms are heated by log fires in winter. The garden is partly covered with marquees for the annual Fairport Convention folk-rock festival when there is a full programme of fringe bands.
