Historic Interest

Also listed at Railway Hotel, Railway Station & Haughley Old Street, & at Newton Road in 1881 census. A report in the Ipswich Journal** on 11 Jan in 1887 states that : "John Wilding, Landlord of the Railway Tavern, Haughley, was returning from Stowmarket with his horse & cart. His cart overturned on a sharp corner & being a heavy man, he was hurt by the fall & sustained a broken shoulder."
