Situated in central Norfolk near the ancient Anglo-Saxon North Elmham Cathedral and Bishops Palace, this is both a rural gem and a fine community pub.
The pub comprises an L-shaped open bar, with two real fires one at either end of the room, together with a small discreet dining room off the main bar. The beers., all on handpump, usually come from microbreweries in Norfolk and Suffolk, but occasionally from further afield.
Home-cooked meals using mainly locally-sourced ingredients are available at lunchtime and in the evening. In addition, adjacent to the pub in a converted stable building, is a function room 'Tracks' where the Norfolk Blues Society meet every third Tuesday, and which is available for hire.
The pub hosts an annual beer festival during the August bank holiday weekend. Camping is available close by and at the rear of the pub.
This Pub serves 3 changing beers and 0 regular beers.
