A country pub with excellent views across to the village cricket pitch, on an open common - one of the largest in England that is privately owned by the parish.
Extensively remodelled in 2016: the beams and brick interiors remain, as do the two large inglenook fireplaces. However, the pub has been much expanded, particularly at the rear with a large patio and garden. There are now couple of restaurants, a snug, and a spacious front bar that welcomes dogs. There are also six B&B rooms in the converted livestock barns.
