Superb and stylish bar-brasserie with a peaceful south-facing terrace garden to the rear, and a lively bar area alongside the restaurant inside, both with big windows giving views of the High Street and the University Church opposite. Built late 18th century to house a drapers and a mercers who moved into banking. Bottled Hook Norton and XT beers are available although the bar does most of its trade selling cocktails and supplying the needs of diners. Situated in the ground floor of the Old Bank Hotel which is in the same ownership. Serves breakfast from 7 to 11am. Card payments only.
