This Pub is Permanently Closed
This Wetherspoon pub has a spacious room at the front with tables for drinking and dining, edged by booths and bench seating. The bar is towards the rear where there are high tables, plus a little alcove room off to the side. It is renown for a wide selection of interesting real ales, often from local breweries, in addition to the usual selection. As the name suggests, it is housed in the old telephone exchange (?). The noise of conversation dominates, though the TV sound may be turned up for important games. Regular beer festivals occur throughout the year. Level access to the bar from the side entrance. Very handy if changing trains in Foregate Street station.
Wetherspoons have sold the pub to another operator, closed 8-1-2023
Re-opened as a restaurant called Aurora December 2023
