This Pub is Permanently Closed
The Plough traded for just short of 300 years before closure in 2011. This came as something of a surprise in view of its proximity to National League Ebbsfleet United FC (formerly Gravesend & Northfleet) who regularly draw large and thirsty crowds, but the pub had been in decline for some years.
It had been part of the tied estate of London brewers Courage for much of the 20th century. A change of name to Cosmopolitan in its final year of trading did little to revive its fortunes and it became a fast food outlet after closure. According to a prominent sign, a Full Engllish (sic) Breakfast is among the delights on offer!
