The pub name may be related to the fact that areas around Latimer Road were once known as The Piggeries. When the Great Western Railway took over the area around the Tyburn place of execution, ejected keepers of swine moved west and settled on plots of waste land around here.
No cask ale reported. The pub is part of the Silchester Estate, and one of the last old-style pubs in the area. As at Jan 2016 it was reported that the Council (freeholder) have bought the lease because the pub is in the Silchester regeneration area currently undergoing an options appraisal. They have said they will reprovide the pub.
Home-made food offering includes all-day breakfast and Sunday roast, but the site is also home to a pizza takeway and you can eat one of those if you wish.
