The Pear Tree closed "temporarily" in August 2013 but became a "furniture shop" for a very brief period of time. Thanks to an enthusiastic local campaign, attempts to convert it to residential use were thwarted however the owners refused to sell it to the community. Eventually, in September 2018, it reopened as a boutique country inn with three guest rooms plus a separate annexe. Much of the pub is taken up by the Pear & Olive Scratch Kitchen restaurant area but it also has a beer lounge. Rear patio garden. No cask ales.
