This Club is Permanently Closed
This is a club, which means that the bar may be only open to members.
Started out as a Methodist chapel in Nelson, Lancashire. Way back when God was a boy, "the 1930's", a group of mill workers and farmers chipped together to purchase it. They went over to Nelson, via horse and cart and brought it back over piece by piece. It was constructed in Lowertown, Oxenhope where it resides today.
This is the main reason that it is known as "The Idiot Hut"
Most parts of the church - such as the partitioning walls - were removed, along with the lecturn, which was still on the stage well into the 1970's.
Today the club is the largest live venue in Oxenhope, and is frequented by locals giving the club a warming atmosphere, whether a band is playing, or if it's just an autumn afternoon, with the football playing on the large screen TV's in the background.
