The pub is in a building that dates back to the 15th century, and was originally a mill. It was originally converted into a pub in 1970, and it has been adapted and extended over the years to give a cosy and welcoming pub owned by Harvey's of Lewes. The upper level is a large bar with dining area attached and more dining areas are on lower levels. Food is served from 9:00am to 9:30pm. There is a large garden in front and a patio with a modern water wheel to the rear. Children and pets are welcome.

Historic Interest

The derelict mill was bought by George Spooner in 1970 and converted into a pub. The bar was underground! Look at the door down the steps on the left of the building - that was the entrance. In time a darts room was set up, the nook off the current restaurant near the road is it. The current restaurant was a 140 cover restaurant with no bar but there was a stage on the road wall.
