Situated just inside Exmoor National Park the pub was refurbished in 2013 back to a traditional country inn. It welcomes walkers - the Coleridge Way runs through the village - and others who just want to drop in for a meal or a drink or two. It has a lovely stone floor and lots of comfortable seating. It offers a large range of wines by the glass or bottle. Pleasant Pheasant is the house beer brewed by St Austell. Black Rat perry is on handpump. The pub has an AA rosette for its food. It bakes its own bread and cures its own ham. Food served all day in the summer. Six en-suite bedrooms in the converted coaching house. There are plans to add more B&B accommodation, a village shop and another bar. The large garden also has a pétanque piste.
