This Pub is Permanently Closed

This attractive pub was built in 1892 on the site of a former pub the Globe Inn.

Originally called the Globe Tavern, it has also had spells as Toms Tavern, Nonno's Mercury Flux, Method, Pip's, The Corner Club and others. this perhaps proves that simply changing a pubs name is no recipe for success - and perhaps a sign that the end is nigh. Our last record of this as a pub is in 2003 (as Nonno's) after which it became a nightclub. From 2011 onwards it has been a Chinese restaurant.
