This Pub is Permanently Closed

The pub was on the corner of Jolt Lane and High Street, it became a beerhouse in 1834. Eley's Brewery of Stafford offered the property to let in March 1904 and again in June 1905. There were 6 tenants between 1904 and 1919 when the pub closed, the last was John Brown. The licence was refused in 1919, compensation of £650 was paid and the pub closed on the 27th December 1919. It became the village post office & and stores And subsequently became a private house.
