Once threatened by closure but saved by a village consortium, the Royal Oak is now run by Lanvar Ltd, a group of 34 villagers. A thriving pub at the centre of the community and is the hub of charity fundraising in the village. The pub is about a mile north east of the Shropshire Union Canal at High Onn Bridge.

Once threatened by closure but saved by a village consortium, the Royal Oak is now owned by Lanvar Ltd, a group of 34 villagers. When the last tenant left in 2016 the pub was run by six volunteer directors and the manager Caitlin Begley. The pub is now leased to Woods Brewery and is run by them.
