Nestling between the Quantock Hills and Exmoor National Park the New Inn is an 18th century former coaching inn situated in the quaint village of Halse, seven miles from the Somerset county town of Taunton on the B3227 at Heathfield or A358 at Bishops Lydeard and only forty minutes walk from the famous West Somerset Railway. Annual beer festival held late May early June. Ales from Quantock, Exmoor and one from various local brewers are normally available.Facilities include B and B rooms, quiz, folk music, themed menu evenings. A wonderful rear garden is very welcoming in fine weather.
A splendid Cafe is open in the rear ammenity/skittle alley serving coffee, teas and various cakes and sandwiches etc. and open Wednesday to Saturday during the day from 10.30am to 3.00pm
