Now operating as an events venue the following description applied to when this was the New Inn public house:

"This handsome roadside inn is listed as a custom-built early C18 public house with stabling on the main road between London and Cardiff, and despite alterations and additions it is a special survivor. It comprises several rooms with loads of space for drinking and dining. The style of the Old Bar is traditionally rural with fine beamed ceilings, wood panelling, large fireplaces, and mainly wooden flooring, with a carpeted area on the lower section at the rear. The Empress of France bar features much wood salvaged in the 1960's from the ocean-going liner of the same name. Some exposed stone and a warm dark red colour dominates the area near the bar counter. The furniture is a mix of standard tables and chairs with some lower cushioned seating for extra comfort. The corridor walls feature various black & white photos of old Chepstow while look out for mouldings of historic figures. Apart from the restaurant the lower rear section is also set out for dining. The menu, which is described as modern British with a heavy French influence, is changed daily and is becoming increasingly popular as word and reputation spreads. Followers on Facebook or Twitter may take advantage of a secret code offer. Also within the premises, and with a separate entrance, is the Old Forge Café which is where the world's first agricultural hedge trimmer was produced. There are two outdoor areas to enjoy in fine weather. Butcombe ales are a favourite here and may be joined by other guest ales. Note the New Inn also opens on Bank Holiday Mondays when food is served from 12-6pm.

The east bound bus services stop is opposite the premises while the west bound stop is further down the road."
