This is a hotel, which means that the bar is only open to residents.

This upmarket hotel was constructed in 1903 as a private house, as a wedding present. Now Grade II listed, it is an upmarket country house hotel with an air of restrained luxury. Set in seven acres of gardens it has high quality accommodation in the original house and in lakeside rooms. There is a conference centre with syndicate rooms.

Hot dishes are served from 10am to 10pm and there is a choice of restaurant or lounge dining or bar food. Afternoon tea is also available.

While this is something of a bar for residents, the bar is open to the public and boasts a solitary hand pump serving cask Bitter from Lees of Middleton. Cask ale is only intermittently available.
