A noted friendly gastropub in a small out of the way village but close enough to Knaresborough, Harrogate and Ripon to attract diners from each. Although very much food led, casual drinkers are made just as welcome as diners, and the service is second to none. An open plan room but divided up by vestigial walls and a huge fire place, with a log burning stove, into intimate and cosy spaces each with a slightly different atmosphere in part due to having, open, plastered or panelled walls. At the rear is a conservatory like room specifically for dining. Décor is eclectic with a mixture of furniture styles, photos, and pictures, giving a lived in and comfortable feel.
This pub is on the Knaresborough Round walking route.
