A well-run 18th Century city-centre venue tucked away in a charming cobbled alley leading to the cathedral. Although opened out into a single bar area, the pleasant wood-panelled interior gives an intimate feel, and the secluded, decked beer garden extends some way back. A good range of freshly prepared bar meals, cooked to order, are served at lunchtime only. Three television screens (one outside) show sporting events, particularly international rugby.
