Overlooking the Ridgegate Reservoir by Macclesfield Forest this 18th century stone built, former smithy has a central U shaped bar. The pub is divided into two main areas with low ceilings and beams. As you walk in and to the right is a stone flagged area with a large fire which has a traditional country pub feel. To the left is a carpeted lounge area. The printed menu is supplemented by a large number of specials, displayed on boards by the bar. Up to four cask beers are available.
The area is popular with walkers and the Gritstone Trail long distance path passes close by, The nearest bus service (14A) is just over half a mile away by Langley Methodist church.
Closed Monday & Tuesday evening in Winter.
