The Last Inn is quite a big place, with a large lounge, games room, dining room and an expansive, and recently refurbished function room. Its ethos is very much a community pub, with its varied range of real ale being a popular aspect. As members of the Oakham Ales' Oakademy of Excellence, access is available to Limited Edition and special Oakham brews. The landlords run a Loyalty scheme details of which can be obtained at the pub. And another source of pride is that the pub "runs on woodchip", that is the heating boiler uses woodchip pellets!
The pub was once the home of a shoemaker, hence the name Last. There's an example of the implement on the bar wall. Opening hours vary between summer and winter. Six handpumps, one of which is usually a cider. And just a footnote about Hengoed. It is Welsh for Old Woods and is a reminder that hereabouts. the very penetrable national frontier is close by!
This Pub serves 1 changing beer and 2 regular beers.
