Very much a popular village local with the facilities to match. There are two pleasant rooms where drinkers gather, with open fires and a convivial atmosphere. This is a pub much used by local teams so the bar has darts and pool. A relatively new innovation is good value pub food. Meals are usually taken in the lounge midweek, but at weekends diners retire to the separate dining room. Incidentally "Wern" is the Welsh word for marsh - or maybe alder! It is a reminder that hereabouts. the very penetrable national frontier is close by. Was once one of the 8 pubs owned by J Edwards & Sons brewery of Weston Rhyn - one of Shropshire's long lost breweries!
This Pub serves 1 changing beer and 1 regular beer.
