A traditional and popular village pub based in a rural community. Front entrance leads into a former off-sales space with a lounge to the left and a public bar to the right with a central bar. Dark wood panelling and brick, with tiled floors, predominate.
Historic Interest
One of a number of pubs in the area associated with Palmer the Poisoner. He met plumber and glazier George Abley at the Lamb and Flag and challenged him to a drinking contest. Abley accepted, and an hour later was carried home, where he died in bed later that evening.
