Welcoming and friendly illage centre inn with a large bar providing plenty of seating and a restaurant adorned with past photos of the pub. A popular local, home to dominoes and quiz teams. It is also home to a classic car and bike club The pub is popular with walkers, cyclists, boaters, and visitors to the nearby Shugborough Estate (National Trust). The Staffordshire Way and bridge 73 of the Trent & Mersey Canal are 200 metres along Trent Lane. The pub is very dog friendly.
Historic Interest
The original building was once the gatehouse to the Anson estates but was a pub by 1818. In 1930 the property was acquired by Bass & rebuilt.
