The attractive L shaped bar is on the street corner of the Shore area next to The Water of Leith. The building dates back to the 17th century with some of the original stone walls visible and an old wooden floor retained. On the outside wall is a plaque giving details of the site from 1434 when a building was first erected. The pub restaurant is very popular with locals and visitors and is renowned for great quality fresh seasonal food. During busy periods table service is provided for food and drinks. A roast menu is available on Sundays (pre booking recommended). In addition to the real ales there is a good selection of malt whiskeys.
