Known as The Ram in 1478, but changed to The King's Head in 1528, in honour of Henry VIII, the name it retained until 1903 when it became the County Hotel. In the mid-90s it changed to its present name. On 2nd Oct. 1846, a stagecoach, the 'Quicksilver', left here on the last complete run from Salisbury to London. Agatha Christie was staying here when WWII broke out. Bought by Wetherspoon in 2002 and now a 'Lloyds No 1', the pub has up to 4 ever changing guest ales and is generally frequented by younger drinkers in the evenings.
