A traditional coaching inn with eight good bedrooms, and good views of the Victorian Hursley church opposite. Smartly & tastefully refurbished in a contemporary style with muted pastel shades and modern lighting but comfortably furnished with framed black & white photographs of the pub's sports teams from times past. Distinctive stone flagged floor in the main bar area and stylish wood floors in the separate restaurant/dining room and also the rustic bare-bricked snug, which doubles as a casual dining room. A basement skittle alley come function room is available too. While seemingly orientated towards food, drinkers are well catered for in the spacious bar, with three local beers; and there is a better than average array of pub games including Scrabble and the classic 'Shut the Box'. Very occasional live music.
