Opened in 1758 and at that time one of ten pubs in the village which was on the main road from Oxford to London. Owned by Halls Brewery from the 1860s. The pub retains three separate areas, but has a modern interior with bright décor, save for one room which retains some ancient panelling. Has a patio garden to the front.
Ground floor damaged by fire December 2019 and reopened December 2020 after extensive work.
