Homely pub dating from late 18th Century (Grade II listed) situated just off the High street on the road to Amersham. On entry there is a lounge bar to the left and a cosy main public bar with real fire in winter to the right. Beyond is a small room that used to be the restaurant which leads to a rear patio with "smokers shack" and a lovely sunken beer garden.
No food since previous chef left in autumn 2021 but three real beers offered including an interesting guest beer from mainly smaller breweries anywhere in the country. Awarded five tankard status by Caskmark for 2023/4. Regular visits by a variety of "food vans" in the car park often on Fri or Sun - see Facebook page for details. There is a small car park alongside for about 12 vehicles. Disabled access at rear to back room using moveable ramp - ask at bar.
