This Pub is Permanently Closed

The Kent Hounds was a popular and very much off the beaten track free house and its closure in 2005 was a sad loss. The landlord kept an excellent pint and had accumulated a large collection of ephemera which was on display in the bar area.

There is evidence that The Kent Hounds was trading by 1870. The archive images (thanks to www.dover-uk.com for sharing) suggest an association with the former Kidd's brewery in Dartford, but this is unconfirmed. A couple of years after closure the pub was demolished and a new private house built.
