Appearances can be deceptive. The 1960s architecture may look more suited to a Council estate than a pretty village but inside you'll find a smart and welcoming community two-bar local. The public has a games area at one end (once a separate room), a high pitched roof above the bar and a huge brick fireplace. The lounge is big and airy. The pub has two darts teams that play on Tuesdays, pétanque on Wednesday in the summer, pool and cribbage on Thursdays. Bingo on second and fourth Wednesday and quiz the last Friday of each month. The pub, which sat in a large plot, was bought from Greene King by property company Wrenbridge in 2014. Part of the plot was built on. The pub and remaining garden was then sold to a local couple who have made it a family-friendly local. Cambridge branch's 2015 Community pub (rural).
The pub closed in February 2022 and underwent a major refurbishment before reopening as an Indian restaurant in December 2022. A full resurvey is required.
