Welcome re-opening in April 2016 of this cosy pub in the heart of Bollington following a tasteful £250k refurbishment by Robinsons after many years of closure. Whilst some of the 1930s historic features have been lost in their original form, they were needed to make the Holly Bush a viable business in today's market. But if anything, the charm of the original has been enhanced. The wooden panelling, real fires & flooring have been retained as well as the multi-room layout. Part of the old bar front has been used to build the rear bar.
The bar is more open, the main area extended with a couple of booths and a new orangery where the yard used to be lit by natural light. The outside of the building has been refreshed with new signage and lighting but retaining the mock-Tudor facia.
Four hand pumps stocking the usual Robinsons' beers but includes the seasonal and hopefully beers from the White Label range. Unicorn & Dizzy Blonde have established themselves as a core part of the range.
No car park and street parking is very limited but there is free parking at Pool Bank 50m up the road. The bus passes right past the door. Part of the Bollington pub crawl starting at the Vale and taking in the Dog & Partridge, Holly Bush, Spinners, Cotton Tree and finishing at the Poachers. Options are adding the Church House & Crown after the Spinners.
