The sixth generation of the Robinson family now run the brewery, founded in 1838. Following a significant reduction in the tied estate in recent years, there is now gradual expansion. The core range, bi-monthly seasonals, and other one-off beers are brewed, notably the Trooper range, in conjunction with Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson. In 2022 Robinsons announced plans to relocate brewing from the town centre site to the botting plant in nearby Bredbury. This move should complete during the currency of this Guide.
