Large, noisy High Street pub at the lower end of town, this former shop has many sports TVs, and is popular with younger people, particularly in the evening, though the clientele is quite varied. The 2019 refurbishment has enlarged the sports area, provided magnificent disabled loos, and improved the entire premises, while keeping a friendly local pub feel. The beers are well kept with one or more local breweries represented. Cider is available and there's a good selection of bottled craft beers and sensibly priced food.
