Originally built in around 1280, the building opened as an inn in 1473 and until 1999 had been in the same family for 250 years. The pub has been refurbished into a more modern style but retains the multitude of little rooms and alcoves. A function room that holds around 60 was opened in 2006. Booking advisable for Sunday lunch.
Pub reopened Sat 1st February after a minor internal refurbishment. Note that two ales are served via the handpumps with the other two being served straight from the casks situated behind the bar.
