This Pub is Permanently Closed
A single roomed stone built pub on the edge of Stamford town. Sells real ales from Batemans including the house beer, Hitter Cask, together with guest beers. Darts, pool, crib and push penny teams. Successful beer festival held in conjunction with the Jolly Brewer in November 2008. Large beer garden at rear and patio area at side of pub. Weston's traditional cider on hand pump. Part of the pub was a brew house and butchers shop. The butcher, Huckbody, was famous for his sausages, and sausages of many varieties, all locally sourced, now form the menu which is served from 3-8 on Wed, 12-6 Fri/Sat and 12-4 Sun. Named after the shooting gallery phrase, "Try your luck, hit or miss". The pub closed in 2013 and was demolished May 2014.
