Due to reopen in summer 2025 as a 'Hickory's Smokehouse' after a major refurbishment.

The pub is some way north of the village centre towards Oadby along what used to be the main A6 road, before the by-pass was constructed. The pub is a large single storey and comparatively modern looking building consisting basically of one very large L-shaped room.

Historic Interest

The premises were built as a 'Millers Kitchen' pub-diner by the former brewers Greenalls in the 1980s. Over recent years the premises have been branded 'Fayre & Square', 'Goodwins Bar and Kitchen', and 'Eating Inn'. After a spell as the 'Fox Pond', it is due to reopen in summer 2025 as 'Hickory's Smokehouse', one of a chain of restaurants acquired by Greene King in 2022.
