This Pub is Closed Long Term

JUL 2025 - Believed to be unlikely to reopen as a pub under the current tenancy. The online beer shop is still in operation.

JUL 2024 - NO REAL ALE since lockdown started. Two unused handpumps.

The former long-closed Black Bull reopened in 2015 and is one of the most remarkable village pubs in the Borders. There are bottled and canned beers from around the world, especially Belgium, and some unusual keg-craft beers. Most draught beers are only served in thirds, halves and two-thirds measures. Bar furnishing includes reclaimed chairs and tables. There are regular live music, comedy and drag events.

NOTE: During ticketed events there is no open access to the bar.

NOTE: Check opening/closing times at quieter periods. May stay open later on any day due to demand.
