This open-plan 18th-century coaching inn was bought by Thwaites at the beginning of March 2020 and is under new management. The tiled bar area divides the pub into two distinct areas: a comfortable lounge accessed through the right-hand door and a smaller drinking area with a television showing sport and a cosy corner with a couple of tables accessed through the left-hand door. Freshly prepared meals from a varied menu are served all day in the separate dining area. The pleasant sloping beer garden at the rear is a great place to soak up the summer sun. One beer from the Thwaites core range is available - this cycles between Original, Gold and IPA. Accommodation is in 7 en-suite bedrooms. There is a wheelchair-accessible toilet (with baby-changing facilities) at ground-floor level but access from the bar is through a narrow doorway and there are steps into the pub.
