Imposing Grade II listed hotel built in 1841, which re-opened in December 2014 following a full refurbishment, having been purchased (and rescued from permanent closure) by Lancashire-based hotel and venue chain, James' Places, who also own Bowland Brewery. The high-ceilinged public bar (on the left from the imposing front door) has a light and airy feel and features a tall period window, classic bird and hunting scene prints, an incredibly wide bar, a solid stone bar back and meat hooks in the ceiling. The side room, mainly used for non-resident dining, is informally but tastefully furnished and has an Edwardian feel with a contemporary twist. On entering the building check out the magnificent stairwell, the huge chandelier and the 'peacock' chairs. The hotel's location at the South end of town means there are extensive lawned gardens. There are 16 bedrooms including a bridal suite. The Falcon Manor is a licensed wedding venue and the guest beers on offer may have been chosen by the bride or groom at a recent or forthcoming wedding.
