This Pub is Permanently Closed
This pub, designed by William Stewart, was built in 1936 and was on the top of Deadmans Hill beneath which are buried many victims of the Great Plague. It had an unusual circular saloon bar with two bars skirting the walls. Busy public bar, separate restaurant and a huge car park. Beers relatively cheap for the brewery concerned. Webster: Yorkshire Bitter
